Amazon's September 24 multichannel rollout lets U.S. sellers connect eBay, Shopify, TikTok Shop, and Walmart to Seller Central at no software charge. You import listings, match SKUs across platforms, view unshipped orders in one screen, and route fulfillment to Amazon or the native channel. The setup takes 30 to 90 minutes per channel. Profitability reporting that includes ad spend and channel fees is planned but not yet live, so you still need spreadsheet or third-party margin tracking. This guide walks through account connection, SKU mapping, inventory allocation rules, order routing logic, and when to use the 15 to 25 percent MCF discount versus native fulfillment.

Amazon’s September 24 multichannel rollout lets U.S. sellers connect eBay, Shopify, TikTok Shop, and Walmart to Seller Central at no software charge.
What Amazon’s multichannel dashboard does (and what it does not)
The new Seller Central multichannel tools give you five capabilities today: (1) connect external accounts, (2) import listings from those accounts, (3) link SKUs across marketplaces, (4) view unshipped orders from all channels in one screen, and (5) select which orders to fulfill through Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment versus the original platform’s native shipping.
What is not included at launch: true cross-channel profitability reporting that subtracts ad spend, fulfillment fees, returns, and platform commissions from gross sales. Amazon says this feature is planned. Today you see order volume and revenue by channel, but contribution margin requires your own spreadsheet or a tool like Kaldon that calculates profit after all costs.
The dashboard also does not yet support one-click catalog sync. You can import listings and match them manually, but editing a product description once and pushing channel-specific versions to Shopify, Walmart, and TikTok is a future capability. AI-generated listings for each marketplace are also planned, not live.
Availability is gradual. The rollout targets U.S. sellers over the coming months. If you do not see “Multichannel Selling” under the Growth menu in Seller Central, you are not in the current wave.
Step 1: Connect your external accounts
Log into Seller Central. Navigate to Growth > Multichannel Selling > Get Started. You will see a connection wizard for eBay, Shopify, TikTok Shop, and Walmart.
eBay: You authorize Amazon to read your eBay listings, orders, and inventory through OAuth. Amazon does not post listings or fulfill orders on eBay automatically. You grant read and limited write access so Amazon can return tracking numbers to eBay when you fulfill an eBay order through MCF.
Shopify: You install the Amazon Multichannel app from the Shopify app store, then authenticate inside Seller Central. The app imports active Shopify products and orders. If you use Shopify fulfillment for some SKUs and Amazon MCF for others, the app needs permission to update order status and tracking.
TikTok Shop: TikTok provides a setup guide for connecting TikTok Shop with Amazon MCF through Shopify or WooCommerce. You connect your TikTok Seller Center account, install a middleware app on Shopify, then link that app to Seller Central. Orders flow from TikTok to Shopify to Amazon MCF. Tracking flows back the same route.
Walmart: You provide your Walmart Seller Center credentials or use API keys if you operate a high-volume Walmart account. Amazon imports Walmart listings and orders. Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) and Amazon MCF remain separate; you decide per order which warehouse ships the item.
Each connection takes 10 to 30 minutes. You do this once per platform. Amazon says your multichannel data is used only to surface information to you, not to inform Amazon’s retail decisions or another seller’s analytics.
Step 2: Import and match SKUs across platforms
After connection, Amazon pulls your active listings from each channel. You see a list of unmatched products. Your job is to tell Amazon which Shopify SKU, eBay item, TikTok listing, and Walmart product represent the same physical item in your FBA inventory.
Manual matching: Click a Shopify product, then select the corresponding Amazon ASIN or FNSKU. Repeat for eBay, TikTok, and Walmart. If SKU naming is consistent (you use the same internal code across all platforms), matching is faster. If SKU formats differ, you rely on product title and image recognition.
Bulk upload: Amazon supports CSV upload for SKU matching. Export your master SKU table with columns for Amazon FNSKU, Shopify SKU, eBay item ID, TikTok listing ID, and Walmart product ID. Upload the file under Multichannel Selling > Manage Listings > Bulk Match. This works for catalogs above 50 SKUs.
Unmatched listings: Products that exist on Shopify or Walmart but not in your FBA inventory cannot be matched. These remain native-fulfillment-only unless you add the SKU to Amazon, send inventory to FBA, and re-run the match.
SKU matching is critical. If you match incorrectly, an order for product A may ship product B. Double-check before you route live orders to MCF.
Step 3: Allocate inventory across channels without stockouts
Amazon does not yet enforce inventory allocation rules inside the dashboard. You see total FBA inventory for a matched SKU, then decide how much to reserve for Amazon.com orders versus off-Amazon orders.
Why allocation matters: If you list 100 units on Amazon, 100 on Shopify, 100 on Walmart, and 100 on TikTok—but you only have 100 units in FBA—you risk overselling. Amazon will fulfill the first 100 orders it receives, then cancel the rest.
Manual allocation: Track allocated vs. available inventory in a spreadsheet. Example: 100 units in FBA. Reserve 50 for Amazon orders, 20 for Shopify, 20 for Walmart, 10 for TikTok. Update listing quantities on each platform to match your allocation. When FBA stock drops to 60 units, reduce allocations proportionally.
Third-party tools: Tools like SellerCloud, Zentail, and eComdash enforce allocation rules automatically. They connect to Seller Central, Shopify, Walmart, and other channels, then adjust listing quantities in real time as orders come in. Kaldon’s Grow phase includes inventory tracking across channels and flags unmet-demand categories where stock allocation drives margin.
Unmet-demand lens: When you run low on inventory, prioritize channels where unmet demand is highest. If Walmart search volume is rising but listings are thin, allocate more units to Walmart. If TikTok conversion is strong but Amazon is saturated, shift stock to TikTok. The multichannel dashboard does not calculate this for you; you need trend data from Kaldon, Jungle Scout, or Helium 10 to make the call.
Step 4: Route orders to Amazon MCF or native fulfillment
The Manage Orders screen shows unshipped orders from all connected channels. Each order displays the sales channel, SKU, quantity, and ship-to address. You decide whether Amazon fulfills the order or the native platform does.
When to use Amazon MCF:
- You want Prime delivery on your Shopify store. Amazon now allows MCF merchants to offer Prime delivery on their own websites at no extra charge beyond ordinary fulfillment fees.
- The customer is closer to an Amazon warehouse than your 3PL.
- You are eligible for the 15 to 25 percent MCF discount. Amazon announced this promotion alongside the multichannel launch, valid for the first six months for qualifying merchants.
- The product is already in FBA and you do not maintain separate inventory at another warehouse.
When to use native fulfillment:
- Walmart or eBay requires seller-fulfilled delivery for certain categories (oversized items, hazmat, refrigerated goods).
- Your 3PL cost is lower than MCF after the discount expires.
- You want full control over packaging, inserts, and branded unboxing.
- Amazon’s MCF speed does not match TikTok’s 2-day expectation in your region.
Order routing: In the dashboard, select an unshipped Shopify or Walmart order. Click “Fulfill with Amazon.” Amazon pulls the item from FBA, ships it, and returns tracking to the original platform. The customer sees the tracking number in their Shopify or Walmart account. Amazon charges your MCF balance, not your FBA balance.
If you do not click “Fulfill with Amazon,” the order remains in the native platform’s queue. You ship it yourself or through Shopify Fulfillment Network, Walmart Fulfillment Services, or your 3PL.
There is no automation yet. Each order requires a manual click unless you build an API integration or use middleware like Shopify Flow or Zapier.
Step 5: Handle tracking failures, cancellations, and late shipments
Multi-channel fulfillment introduces new failure modes.
Tracking sync delay: Amazon ships the order but the tracking number does not appear in Shopify or Walmart for 4 to 12 hours. The customer opens a “where is my order” case. The marketplace may auto-cancel if tracking is not uploaded within 24 hours of the ship-by date. Solution: set up automatic tracking upload through the Shopify app or Walmart API. If you see consistent delays, contact Amazon MCF support and copy your Shopify or Walmart merchant ID into the case.
Lost shipments: The carrier marks the package as lost. The customer files an A-to-Z claim on Shopify or Walmart, not Amazon. You are liable, not Amazon. Amazon’s MCF terms include limited liability for lost shipments, but the customer sees your Shopify or Walmart account as the seller of record. File a reimbursement claim with Amazon under Manage Orders > Order Issues > Lost Shipment. Expect 2 to 4 weeks for resolution. Refund the customer immediately to protect your Shopify or Walmart account health.
Late delivery: Amazon’s MCF promise is 2-day or 3-day delivery depending on the SKU’s fulfillment speed tier. If the package arrives late, the customer may leave a negative review on Shopify or Walmart. Unlike FBA orders on Amazon.com, late MCF delivery does not automatically trigger Amazon’s late-shipment concession. You handle the customer complaint and refund if needed.
Cancellations: If a customer cancels a Shopify or Walmart order after you routed it to Amazon, you must cancel the MCF order manually in Seller Central. Navigate to Manage Orders > Multi-Channel, find the order, and click Cancel. If the item already shipped, you cannot cancel. The customer refuses delivery or returns the item to Amazon. You pay return shipping and a restocking fee.
Inventory accuracy: If Amazon shows 50 units available in FBA but actually has 45, you may oversell. Run a daily inventory reconciliation report under Inventory > Inventory Ledger. Cross-check FBA available quantity against your allocated totals in Shopify, Walmart, TikTok, and eBay. If the numbers do not match, adjust listing quantities immediately.
Step 6: Evaluate the 15 to 25 percent MCF discount and decide which orders to route
Amazon announced up to 25 percent lower Multi-Channel Fulfillment fees for the first six months for eligible merchants. This discount is promotional, not permanent. After six months, you pay standard MCF rates.
Current MCF fee structure (before discount): Small standard-size item (under 12 oz) costs $4.50 to $5.50. Large standard-size item (1 to 2 lb) costs $7.00 to $8.50. Fees vary by speed (2-day, 3-day, or standard) and package weight. Compare to FBA fees, which are $3.22 to $3.86 for small standard and $4.90 to $5.50 for large standard on Amazon.com orders.
With a 20 percent discount, the small standard MCF fee drops to $3.60 to $4.40. This is competitive with 3PL rates if your 3PL charges $4.00 to $5.00 per pick-pack-ship.
Break-even analysis: Export your last 90 days of Shopify, Walmart, and TikTok orders. Calculate average MCF cost per order using Amazon’s fee calculator. Compare to your current 3PL cost per order (pick fee + pack fee + shipping cost + monthly storage). If MCF saves $1.00 or more per order, route all eligible orders to Amazon during the discount period.
If your 3PL cost is lower, route only orders where Amazon’s warehouse is closer to the customer (shorter transit time) or where you want to offer Prime delivery on Shopify.
Unmet-demand factor: Kaldon’s research shows that unmet demand—categories where search volume exceeds available listings—drives higher conversion and margin. If you identify a product with unmet demand on Walmart or TikTok, route those orders to the fastest fulfillment option (Amazon 2-day MCF) to capture the margin before competitors launch. If the category is saturated, use slower, cheaper fulfillment to protect margin.
Step 7: Track real profit by channel (and why the dashboard does not do this yet)
The dashboard shows sales and order count by channel. It does not subtract fulfillment fees, advertising spend, platform commissions, returns, or chargebacks. Your Shopify gross sales of $10,000 may net $3,000 after Shopify’s 2.9% + 30¢ transaction fee, $1,200 in MCF fees, $1,500 in Meta ads, and $800 in returns.
Amazon says cross-channel profitability reporting—including ad spend, traffic, and sales data—is a planned feature. Until it launches, you need manual tracking.
Manual method: Export sales by channel from each platform. Export MCF fees from Seller Central under Payments > Transaction View > Multi-Channel Fulfillment. Export ad spend from Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Walmart Advertising Console, and Amazon Advertising. Export return costs from each platform. Sum costs, subtract from revenue, divide by revenue to get net margin.
Automated method: Connect Seller Central, Shopify, Walmart, and TikTok to a profit-tracking tool. Kaldon’s Grow phase pulls order data, fulfillment fees, ad spend, and returns, then calculates contribution margin by SKU and channel. Other options include Sellerboard, SellerLegend, and HelloProfit (Amazon-only), or A2X and Webgility for multichannel accounting.
Why this matters: A product may show $50,000 in Shopify sales but lose money after ads and fulfillment. Without profit tracking, you scale the wrong SKUs. With profit tracking, you cut unprofitable channels and double down on high-margin ones. The dashboard’s order visibility is useful, but real decisions require margin data.
Common setup mistakes and how to avoid them
Mistake 1: Matching SKUs incorrectly. You match your Shopify “Blue Widget” to the wrong Amazon ASIN. A customer orders the blue version on Shopify. Amazon ships the red version. The customer returns it. You pay return shipping, lose the sale, and take a negative review. Solution: Match SKUs using FNSKU or UPC, not product title. Cross-check with images before you route the first order.
Mistake 2: Not reserving inventory for Amazon.com orders. You list 100 units on Shopify and 100 on Amazon, but you only have 100 units in FBA. Amazon.com orders come in first. Shopify orders get canceled. Your Shopify cancellation rate spikes. Shopify may suspend your account. Solution: Reserve at least 40 to 60 percent of FBA inventory for Amazon.com orders if Amazon is your primary channel. Use the rest for off-Amazon.
Mistake 3: Ignoring MCF speed commitments. You route a TikTok Shop order to Amazon MCF standard shipping (5 to 7 days). TikTok Shop expects 2-day delivery. The customer complains. TikTok downgrades your seller rating. Solution: Match MCF speed to the sales channel’s delivery promise. TikTok and Shopify customers expect 2 to 3 days. Walmart customers tolerate 3 to 5 days. eBay depends on the listing’s stated handling time.
Mistake 4: Routing hazmat, oversized, or restricted items to MCF. Amazon MCF does not ship lithium batteries, aerosols, or items over 50 lb in some regions. You route a Walmart order for a 60 lb item to MCF. Amazon cancels the order. The customer cancels on Walmart. You lose the sale. Solution: Check MCF restrictions under Help > Multi-Channel Fulfillment > Restrictions before you match a SKU.
Mistake 5: Not tracking the 15 to 25 percent discount expiration. You route all Shopify orders to Amazon during the promotional period. The discount expires after six months. Your MCF cost jumps 25 percent. You are now losing money on Shopify orders. Solution: Set a calendar reminder 30 days before the discount expires. Re-run your break-even analysis. Switch back to 3PL or Shopify Fulfillment Network if MCF becomes more expensive.
When to use the Amazon multichannel dashboard versus Shopify or a standalone tool
Use Amazon Seller Central as your hub if:
- Amazon is your largest sales channel (60%+ of revenue).
- You already use FBA for the majority of your inventory.
- You want to consolidate as many logins as possible.
- The 15 to 25 percent MCF discount makes Amazon fulfillment your cheapest option.
- You do not need advanced automation like auto-repricing, dynamic allocation, or AI-generated channel-specific descriptions (these are future features on Amazon’s roadmap).
Use Shopify as your hub if:
- Shopify or DTC is your largest channel.
- You want full control over catalog, branding, and customer data.
- You use Shopify apps for email, SMS, subscriptions, and loyalty.
- You already use Shopify Marketplace Connect to manage Amazon, Walmart, eBay, and Target Plus.
- You prefer a neutral platform that does not also compete with you in retail.
Use a standalone multichannel tool (SellerCloud, Zentail, eComdash, ChannelAdvisor) if:
- You sell on 5+ marketplaces including international Amazon stores, Wayfair, Home Depot, or Newegg.
- You need real-time inventory allocation, automated repricing, and bulk listing creation.
- You operate multiple brands or warehouses.
- You require accounting integration with QuickBooks, Xero, or NetSuite.
Use Kaldon if:
- You are launching a new product and need to discover unmet demand before you commit inventory.
- You want AI-generated listings, images, and social content tailored to each marketplace’s audience.
- You need profit tracking by SKU and channel without stitching together five separate reports.
- You are choosing between TikTok Shop and Amazon FBA and need a profit calculator that includes fulfillment, ads, and returns.
Start your free trial and connect your Amazon, Shopify, and Walmart accounts. Kaldon pulls sales, costs, and ad spend, then shows profit by channel in one dashboard.
What Amazon is building next (and what you still need to solve yourself)
Amazon’s roadmap includes three features that are planned but not yet live:
1. One-edit catalog sync: Edit a product description in Seller Central, then push channel-specific versions to Shopify, Walmart, TikTok, and eBay. Each version adapts to the marketplace’s formatting rules, keyword density, and tone. This eliminates manual copy-paste and reduces catalog drift.
2. AI-generated channel-specific listings: Input a master product spec. Amazon’s AI writes a bullet-point Amazon listing, a lifestyle-focused Shopify description, a value-driven Walmart blurb, and a short-form TikTok caption. This is similar to Kaldon’s AI content engine, which already generates marketplace-specific copy in the Create phase.
3. Cross-channel profitability view: See sales, ad spend, traffic, and profit by channel in one screen. This is the most requested feature. Until it launches, you need Kaldon, Sellerboard, or a custom spreadsheet.
What you still need to solve yourself:
- Inventory allocation rules (Amazon does not enforce limits; you track this manually or with a third-party tool).
- Return management (each channel has separate return portals and policies).
- Customer service (a Shopify customer emails you, not Amazon).
- Pricing strategy (Amazon does not auto-reprice your Walmart or TikTok listings to match Amazon’s price).
- International expansion (the multichannel dashboard is U.S.-only; you need separate tools for Canada, UK, EU, Australia).
The dashboard consolidates order visibility and fulfillment routing. It does not replace your full multichannel stack. If you need catalog automation, profit tracking, and unmet-demand research, add Kaldon or a similar platform.
Summary: Is the Amazon multichannel dashboard ready for production use?
Yes, for order consolidation and MCF routing. You can connect Shopify, Walmart, TikTok, and eBay today (if you are in the current U.S. rollout wave), match SKUs, view unshipped orders in one screen, and route fulfillment to Amazon. The 15 to 25 percent MCF discount makes Amazon competitive with 3PL costs for many sellers during the promotional period.
No, for profit tracking, catalog automation, and inventory allocation. These features are planned or require manual work. If you need full multichannel control, you still need Shopify Marketplace Connect, a standalone tool like SellerCloud, or Kaldon’s Grow phase for profit and inventory visibility.
The biggest unmet need: real-time contribution margin by channel. Until Amazon ships that feature, you are flying blind on which channel actually makes money after ads, fulfillment, and returns. Kaldon calculates margin by SKU and channel today. Start your free trial and see profit, not just revenue.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to use Amazon fulfillment to access the multichannel dashboard?
No. Amazon says sellers do not need to use Multi-Channel Fulfillment or FBA to connect external accounts, import listings, or view orders in Seller Central. You can manage Shopify, Walmart, TikTok, and eBay orders in the dashboard and fulfill them through native channels or your own 3PL.
Can the dashboard calculate profit after ads, fulfillment, and channel fees?
Not yet. Amazon announced cross-channel profitability reporting as a planned feature, but it is not available at launch. Today the dashboard shows order volume and revenue by channel. You need Kaldon, Sellerboard, or a spreadsheet to calculate contribution margin after costs.
How do I prevent overselling when I list the same SKU on Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, and TikTok?
Manually allocate inventory across channels and update listing quantities to match your allocations. If you have 100 units in FBA, reserve a portion for each channel and track it in a spreadsheet or use a tool like Kaldon, SellerCloud, or Zentail for real-time allocation.
Is the 15 to 25 percent MCF discount permanent?
No. Amazon announced the discount for the first six months for eligible merchants. After six months, you pay standard Multi-Channel Fulfillment rates. Set a calendar reminder 30 days before expiration and re-run your break-even analysis to decide whether to continue using MCF.
